We are really glad you want to join our community! To become a member: 1. Click on the Log In icon within the header of the page. 2. Choose your log in method, e.g., Google, Facebook or via email and password Once logged in you will be able to view all our member-only community pages, including having the ability to start posting replies, pictures and much more into our various pages.

If you have entered the incorrect information when signing up to become a member, this information can be changed within 'My Account'. Simply click on the drop-down arrow next to your name in the top right corner of the website and then click 'My Account' Change the information, such as Name, Birthdate or Email address. Press 'Update Info' to complete the changes. Please note that you cannot change your login email. If you would like to use a different email address on our website, we recommend creating a new account with the new email address. Please then contact us via info@lancingandsompting.co.uk to close your old account.

Our mobile app works much better for our History forum, event and Crimewatch pages. We recommend downloading it to stay up to date with information based in these pages. To download our app, click on the link below and get started. Once you have logged in you will be able to view all our pages.

There are loads of Lancing and Sompting pages on Facebook, however they all have one thing in common. They are all hard to search which makes it hard to stay up to date with information. Lancing and Sompting Local isn't a replacement, it's an accompaniment to help its users find the information they need quickly and efficiently. We are constantly making improvements, most recently with the addition of our mobile app, to keep members busy sharing, reading and discussing. From history pages right down to your road name, to Crimewatch pages to help fellow village neighbours stay aware of local crimes. Yes! We have Instagram where we post various images from historical to present that have been posted on our website. Follow us @lancingsomptinglocal We do not have any Facebook groups or pages as we designed the website to be used in accompaniment to these social media pages. Our website does make it easier to search, view and find information that would sometimes be lost on other social media websites, such as events.

Yes! Everything on our page is completely free to use. Certain areas, like Crimewatch and History forums require you to be a member to get involved. This is to prevent spamming and to allow us to monitor what is posted and by who. As with most things our website does cost money to maintain, and we are always working on ideas to keep improving our website and add additional content. We currently offer ticketing services for local events where our website can be used to take payments and send mobile/printable tickets for ticketed events. We also offer local businesses the opportunity to advertise in our monthly newsletter which we hope will become bigger and better every month! These services are something we plan to charge for.

Absolutely! Over 25,000 people live in Lancing and Sompting so what better way to advertise your business than to the only local website which covers both areas. We know that not everybody can always stay up to date with information on social media, or even our website. That is why we have introduced a monthly newsletter which gets emailed to all our site members every month. It contains information on the featured History posts for the month, latest news within the area, features from our Crimewatch group page, upcoming Events for the month ahead, and opportunities for local businesses to advertise too! When you sign up as a Lancing & Sompting Local member you automatically become enrolled to receive your monthly newsletter. Stay tuned!
